Preview
India A will lock horns with Nepal in the 8th match of the ACC Men’s Emerging Cup 2023 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 17. India A have played just one match so far, which they won emphatically and are sitting at the top of the table in Group B. Nepal, on the other hand, have played one match too, but they lost it and are third in the rankings of Group B.
India A had squared off against UAE A in their last match, where India A won the toss and elected to field. UAE did not start well and were down to five wickets for a score of 66. A couple of batters got starts but could not convert those starts into bigger totals. Some significant partnerships from the middle order made UAE reach 175, which was never going to be a tough total. India completely decimated their opponents by chasing the target in almost half of the overs allotted. India won the match by eight wickets, with their captain, Yash Dhull, being awarded Player of the Match for his match-winning century.
Nepal had played against Pakistan A in their last game, where Nepal had won the toss and chose to bat. Winning the toss and choosing to bat did not go in their favor, as they were off to a horrible start and were tottering at six for 39 runs. Sompal Kami was the savior for Nepal down the order; he came to bat at nine and smashed 75 runs which helped Nepal post a decent total of 175. Pakistan A started decently and were scoring at a good pace. Even though they lost a few wickets in the process, Tayyab Tahir led the chase with his fifty, and Pakistan A won the match by four wickets.
