Preview

After outplaying England (ENG) by a big margin of 7 wickets in the first T20I of the five-match series, the defending World T20 champions India (IND) will take on the visitors in the second T20I of the series. The second fixture of the T20I series will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on January 25, at 7:00 PM (IST).

Suryakumar Yadav-led India completely dominated the Englishmen in the first T20I by bundling them at the score of just 132 runs in the first innings and chasing down the target in just 12.5 overs. Besides that, the men in blue are also enjoying an amazing run of form in their last five T20Is, including four wins and only one defeat. They also defeated South Africa by 3-1 in the four-match T20I series last year in November. Now, India will aim to win this game and increase their lead from 1-0 to 2-0 in the five-match series.

On the other hand, Jos Buttler’s England will be looking ahead to make a strong comeback after a big defeat in the T20I series opener. They have lost and won two games each in their last five T20Is, alongside a ‘no-result’ game. The tourists will be eyeing winning this game and level the series with a scoreline of 1-1.

However, the English batting attack might struggle at the track in Chennai while the hosts might field a bowlers-heavy playing XI in the second T20I of the series to trouble the English side. The result of this game will play a decisive role in deciding the direction of the series.
