Preview

India (IND) will be up against England (ENG) in the third Test of the England tour of India at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot from February 15. The series is poised evenly between both teams as India managed to pull off a victory in the last game and equal the series 1-1. They start this game as favourites as well.

Both these teams had squared off against each other in the second match of the series where India won the toss and elected to bat first. Jaiswal was sensational in the first innings as he was the lone batter from one side and held the fort as he notched up his first double-century and propelled the team to a total of 396 runs. The English openers gave a brilliant start where they looked attacking. Zak Crawley played a fantastic knock but did not receive much help from the other end as they were bowled out for 253 with a deficit of 143.

India started aggressively in the third innings but lost both their openers cheaply. However, it was number three, Shubhman Gill who brought glory with the bat this time around as he smashed a ton after long and the team managed to reach a total of 255 and gave England a target of 399 runs. Crawley was again brilliant right from the start and looked threatening. Other batters around him got starts but none of them could convert which came to hurt them as they were bowled out for 292 and lost the game by 106 runs.
