Preview

Team India is all set to renew their rivalry against New Zealand for the first Test match of the three matches of the series set to commence on October 16 at M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru. It is a series with big ramifications for the ultimate World Test Championship as Rohit Sharma and his men aim to seal the qualification spot for the third straight finals.

The Men in Blue are heading to this game after a strong series win over Bangladesh, where the magnificent performances across the board allowed them to complete a 2-0 whitewash. The Chennai Test showcased the team's resilience. In Kanpur, the hosts showed they could easily dominate a bowling attack. Rohit Sharma and Co. will be making their way as favorites and attempt to make sure all their players are in stupendous form ahead of the much anticipated and historic Border Gavaskar Trophy down under.

In contrast, New Zealand is making their way to this game after a tough few months in Test cricket. The Black Caps have suffered a loss in the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka without being too competitive in either game. Before that, the Kiwi side was thwarted by the Australian team at home a few months back. The Kiwis are in a period of transition but still have a huge talent and are a dangerous unit. In addition, this side still has firepower that can test the hosts.
