Preview

India will be up against New Zealand in the 21st match of the Cricket World Cup at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on October 22. Both these teams have bossed their way out in the tournament so far, winning all of their four matches and occupying first and second place in the rankings. This encounter is probably going to decide who will remain the ultimate table topper.

India squared off against Bangladesh in their last match, where Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat. They were off to a flier after choosing to bat, where both their openers scored a half-century each. Several wickets fell at regular intervals after the openers departed. The pair of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah took the team to a decent total of 256 runs. After another bossy start from Rohit and Gill, Kohli took the baton over as he notched yet another century and took the team to an easy win by seven wickets.

New Zealand squared off against Afghanistan in their last match, where Afghanistan won the toss and elected to field. After a good start from their top order, the middle order fumbled a little as they went from 109 for 1 to 110 for 4, but the experience of Tom Latham and Glenn Phillips came to their aid as they took the command and reached a strong total of 288 on a slow pitch. Afghanistan were never in the chase, as they kept losing wickets right from the start. Few of their batters did get starts, but none of them could solidify and, hence, lost the match by a huge margin of 149 runs.
