Preview

India and Sri Lanka will play the third and last game of the ongoing ODI series on Sunday (January 15) at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. India earned an unassailable lead in the previous game, which they won by four wickets. The journey of the Indian team in the last match was starkly contrasting in the first and the second half. The bowlers, particularly Kuldeep Yadav, asked the Sri Lankan batters many questions, which made them look puzzled. Mohammed Siraj, the best pacer for India in limited overs in the past year, again delivered for the team. The duo of Siraj and Kuldeep dismissed six Sri Lankan batters and pushed them to the backfoot. Apart from Nuwanidu Fernando, no other batter managed to score more than 50 runs for the team. Sri Lanka were bundled out for just 215 runs in 39.4 overs.

The Indian team followed the path of their opponents, and by the time the 15th over was completed, they had lost the entire top order. KL Rahul, along with Hardik Pandya, added 75 runs for the fifth wicket and another 30 runs for the next wicket with Axar Patel. Rahul scored his slowest half-century in ODIs but managed to finish the work. Kuldeep played a cameo in the end with his innings of ten runs which included two boundaries.
