Preview
India Women will take on Australia Women in the first game of the three-match T20I series at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Friday, January 5.
After being whitewashed by Aussie Women in the three-match ODI series, Women in Blue will lock horns with Women in Yellow in the three-game T20I series. Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the side, with Smriti Mandhana named her deputy.
Team India's most recent T20I series was against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. They suffered a 1-2 series defeat in that particular series early in December 2023. With a lot of known names in this series, it would be an interesting series to watch out for.
On the other hand, Alyssa Healy will lead the Australian Women, with Tahlia McGrath named her deputy. They are coming into the T20I series on the back of a 2-1 series win over West Indies in October. Grace Harris, who dominated the run-scoring charts in WBBL, is one of the attractions in their squad.
Speaking about the head-to-head record in the T20I format, Australia dominated the opposition on 23 occasions, with Team India winning just seven games. However, at DY Patil Stadium, both sides racked up one win each.
