Preview
The big India vs. Pakistan contest at the Women's T20 Asia Cup 2024 will take place on the first day of the showpiece event scheduled to take place on July 19 at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. The prime-time clash is sure to set the tone for the tournament, with eight teams vying for their spot ahead of the T20 World Cup in October.
Team India, purely alphabetically. The side have played 17 T20Is in this period and have a 10-5 win-loss record to their name. Right at the top, the Women in Blue won a gold medal in the Asian Games 2023 after thrashing Sri Lanka. However, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team suffered back-to-back losses to England and Australia. Meanwhile, they registered a clear sweep over Bangladesh before drawing the series against South Africa.
There have been 14 matches played between both sides over the years, but, for reasons known, no bilateral series. It is clear that the women in blue have a big edge over Pakistan. The side has won five out of six matches against Pakistan in Asia Cup history.
