Ireland Women (IRE-W) will kick off their Women's T20 World Cup 2023 campaign in the 6th match against England Women (ENG-W) at Boland Park in Paarl on February 13. Ireland, the 10th-ranked team in ICC's T20I chart, shocked the cricket world with a thrilling three-wicket win over top-ranked giants Australia in their last warm-up age. But they are unlikely to repeat the miracle against mighty England, against whom they lost the only T20I they played in 2012.
England started their World Cup campaign with a dominant win over West Indies. World no.1 bowler Sophie Ecclestone took three wickets for 23 to restrict West Indies to 135/7. The star all-rounder Natalie Sciver smashed 40* off 30 and Sophia Dunkley scored 34 off 18 to chase the target with seven wickets remaining in just 14.3 overs.
