Preview
Islamabad United will take on Lahore Qalandars in the opening match of the Pakistan Super League. This is the 10th edition of the tournament. 34 matches will be played throughout the tournament, including the Final. The tournament will be played in a double round-robin format, with each team facing the other teams twice during the league stages. The teams that finish in the top 2 after the league stages will automatically play the Qualifier Match. The third and fourth-placed teams will play against each other in the Eliminator. The loser of Qualifier and the winner of Eliminator will then play against each other in Eliminator 2. The winner of this game will go on to play the winner of the Qualifier Match in the Final.
Islamabad United will be led by Shadab Khan and they are the defending champions from previous year and have made their squad even stronger for this edition and will be the favourites to life the title once again. On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars will be led by Shaheen Afridi. They are the only team to have defended a PSL title when they did it a few seasons back. The core of the squad remains unchanged and they will be keen to do well.
