Preview

Italy will lock horns with Finland in the 4th match of the ECSI Italy T10 2023 at the Roma Cricket Ground in Rome on September 23. Italy have been in good form recently, winning three of their last five matches, while Finland have been decent, winning two of their last five games respectively.

Italy had played off against Germany in their last encounter, where Italy won the toss and elected to bowl. Being put to bat, Germany started off aggressively and were going ahead strongly, scoring 69 runs for the opening stand in just 6.3 overs. As soon as the opening stand broke, it opened the floodgates for them as they were not able to form partnerships later on and kept losing wickets. They gave Italy a target of 142, the chase of which Italy did not start well and lost two early wickets. However, a brilliant third-wicket partnership not only pulled them back but won them the game by five wickets.

Finland had played off against Sweden in their last match, where Finland won the toss and elected to bowl. On a slow and low track, Sweden did not start too well, losing five of their wickets just at the score of 22. Their lower order scored some runs, which proved to be handy for them, and they reached a decent total of 96 runs. In reply, Finland also could not start well and was quite slow. The match got interesting towards the end as it ended in a tie and a super over was played between both sides where Finland emerged victorious by two runs at the end.
