Preview
Jammu & Kashmir will lock horns with Mizoram in the 104th match of Group A of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on October 25. Both these teams have a similar record this season, with just one win from five matches played. They are placed sixth and seventh in the rankings.
Jammu & Kashmir had played off against Meghalaya in their last encounter, where Meghalaya won the toss and elected to bat. They started cautiously, not scoring too many runs but not losing wickets either. The scoring rate remained constant throughout the innings, and they did not get the surge towards the end, due to which they could only score 107 runs. In return, Jammu & Kashmir started well with the chase and kept scoring at a good pace. They easily won the match by eight wickets with five overs to spare.
Mizoram had played off against Haryana in their last encounter, where Mizoram won the toss and elected to field. Haryana started rather slowly after being put to bat. By the halfway mark, they had scored just 60 runs, but the flurry of boundaries in the second half of the innings helped them reach a good total of 153 runs on a slow pitch. Mizoram came back for the chase but never could really come into the game, as their batters just failed to find their rhythm. They were bowled out for just 58 runs, losing the match by 95 runs.
