Preview
Kent will lock horns with Gloucestershire in the 3rd match of the Vitality Blast 2023 at the St. Lawrence Ground in Canterbury on May 24. This Wednesday will see three matches on the same day where six teams will be going against each other.
Kent would like to forget their performance in the last season and get on ahead. They had won just three games and lost as many as 11 games in the league stage. This obviously means that they finished at the bottom of the table in the South Group. Despite such a forgetful season, they have not made significant changes to their team’s setup. They have a good mix of young and experienced players and would look forward to this season for creating a much better impact and having a more fruitful season this year.
Gloucestershire had a decent enough last edition of the tournament. They had won and lost six matches each in the last season, whereas two of their matches were washed away. Many of their key players have left the team in the past couple of years, including names like Ryan Higgins, Glenn Phillips, Ian Cockbain, and Benny Howell. These holes are yet to be filled by the team management. They have not bought any significant new names to their existing list but would hope that they improve their performance from last season and qualify for the knockouts this year.
