Preview
Kent will lock horns with Sussex in the 113th match of the Vitality Blast 2023 at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury on June 30. Kent have won seven of their 12 matches and are in the fifth position in the South Group. Sussex, on the other hand, have won just five of their 12 matches and are placed in the seventh position in the South Group.
Kent had squared off against Middlesex in their last match, where Kent won the toss and elected to field. Kent were off to a dreamy start as they had amassed 127 runs for their opening partnership. Both the openers had a fantastic match where Tawanda scored a fifty while Drummond notched up his fabulous century. Such a batting performance meant Kent had posted a huge total of 228 runs on the board. Middlesex did not start well chasing such a total which ultimately led them to go off the track, and they were bowled out for 173. Kent won the match by a huge margin of 55 runs.
Sussex had squared off against Glamorgan in their last match, where Sussex won the toss and elected to bat. Sussex had started decently, which turned into a horrible start where they had lost four wickets within the powerplay. Shadab Khan then took matters into his own hands and played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 87 runs which helped Sussex put up 182 runs. Glamorgan started better than their counterparts but could not sustain it for a much longer duration. By the end of the second innings, Glamorgan could score 162 runs for the loss of eight wickets which meant Sussex had won the match by 20 runs.
