Preview
Khulna Tigers (KHT) will lock horns with Sylhet Strikers (SYL) in the 25th match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2024 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on February 9. Khulna Tigers have done well to win four of their six games and occupy the fourth place, while Sylhet Strikers have won just two of their eight games and are sixth in the rankings.
Khulna Tigers had played against Comilla Victorians in their last encounter, where Comilla Victorians won the toss and elected to bat. Though a little slow but Victorians started cautiously and had an opening stand of 69 runs. There on ahead, they kept losing too many wickets but scored at the same rate as well, which helped them post a total of 149 runs. A good total on a slow track. The Tigers needed to start well, but they could not do so. They kept losing wickets and did not form good partnerships and as a result, lost the game by 34 runs.
Sylhet Strikers had played against Durdanto Dhaka in their last encounter, where Sylhet Strikers won the toss and elected to field. After losing the first wicket early, Dhaka did make a good comeback as they had a brilliant second-wicket partnership. However, they seemed to lose their track from there as they were only able to score 124 runs at the loss of eight wickets. Strikers could have started better with the chase but had lost three wickets within the powerplay. Unlike their opponents, they had a fantastic partnership in the second half of the innings as they went on to win the game by five wickets.
