Lancashire will lock horns with Hampshire in the 57th match of the Vitality Blast 2023 at the Trafalgar Road Ground in Southport from June 11. Lancashire have not been able to win any of their five matches so far and are placed at the eighth position in the rankings. Hampshire , on the other hand, have won three from their six matches and are at the third position in the North Group.

Lancashire had played against Somerset in their last encounter where Lancashire won the toss and elected to field. Somerset did not have a good start as they had lost four wickets just at the score of 55. Few good partnerships down the order helped them reach to a total of 361 in reply of which Lancashire had a similar pattern and owing to a fantastic century by Daryl Mitchell, they posted 326 runs on the board. Somerset started in a much better manner in the third innings where the top order also contributed but two brilliant centuries in the middle order completely stole the show. They declared their innings at 398 runs at the loss of five wickets. Since there was a lack of time, the match ended up in a draw.
Hampshire  had squared off against Northamptonshire in their last match where Hampshire won the toss and elected to bat. Hampshire started well with some good partnerships for the first few wickets. Although none of the players could score a century, almost everyone contributed something with some runs. This helped them reach a total of 367 runs on the board. Northamptonshire got completely derailed in the second innings where they could barely reach the mark of 56 runs. Owing to such a bad score, they were given follow on, in which they batted better this time around. It was still not enough as they were again bowled at the score of 176 runs and Hampshire won the match by an innings and 135 runs.
