Preview
Papua New Guinea are set to tour Malaysia to take part in a two-match T20I series starting on Saturday, March 16. Both sets of fixtures will be played out at YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi. This series will be a historic one as this is the first-ever bilateral series between the two associate nations.
The visitors come into the game on the back of a win in the tri-series final against Nepal. They would be hoping to replicate that form in this upcoming T20I series as well. Tony Ura was the star of the show for the team against Nepal in the final, and the onus would be on him to lead the batting in this series as well.
The hosts last competed in an official match during the Malaysian Open T20 Championship 2024. They did have a successful campaign as they finished second in the tournament. The team was close to winning the championship as well but lost to Bahrain in a close final between the two teams.
