Mumbai Champions will go head to head with VVIP Uttar Pradesh in the grand finale of the Indian Veteran Premier League 2024 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad on March 3, Sunday.
Mumbai Champions, led by Abhishek Jhunjhunwala, won two games and lost three encounters in the league phase. In the first semi-final, they stunned the table toppers Red Carper Delhi by 60 runs in a one-sided affair. Interestingly, Mumbai Champions already defeated VVIP Uttar Pradesh once in the league stage by eight wickets and they would be brimming with confidence.
On the other hand, VVIP Uttar Pradesh, led by Suresh Raina, finished the league stage with the second position, securing four wins and losing just one encounter. Interestingly, their only defeat came against Mumbai Champions by eight wickets. They are coming into this encounter on the back of two consecutive wins. They defeated Chhattisgarh Warriors by 19 runs in the second semi-final and would be eyeing to have their hands on the silverware.
