Being put to bat, the Explorers did not start the way they would have wished to, losing their first wicket in the first over itself. However, they picked up their game from there and scored at a brisk pace. By the end of the innings, they put up a good total of 94 runs on the board. In return, the Royals too did not start well, but they could pick themselves up like their counterparts did. They had difficulty finding boundaries and eventually fell short of the target by 20 runs.
