Preview

Mangalore Dragons will lock horns with Gulbarga Mystics in the 29th match of the Maharaja T20 League 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on August 27. Mangalore Dragons have played nine games where they have won four and are present in the fourth position in the rankings. Gulbarga Mystics, on the other hand, have won five out of nine that they have played and are in third place.

Mangalore Dragons had played against Hubli Tigers in their last match, where Hubli Tigers won the toss and elected to field. The Dragons had a brilliant start, with both their openers looking in great touch. After the opening stand, the second wicket partnership also boosted them ahead forward, but the batters to follow did not contribute much, which limited the team to a total of 167 runs. The Tigers were no less in their approach and started aggressively. They kept the required run rate in check, chased the total with ten balls to spare, and won the match by five wickets.

Gulbarga Mystics had squared off against Mysore Warriors in their last encounter, where Mysore Warriors won the toss, and they elected to field. The Mystics started brilliantly, although they lost a couple of wickets, but losing wickets upfront did hurt them a bit later as it brought their scoring rate down. By the end, they could manage 153 runs on the board. The Warriors had an even better day on the field. The batters were in good touch and kept scoring boundaries regularly, which helped them chase down the score and win the match by eight wickets with two overs to spare.
