Preview
Mississauga Panthers will lock horns with Montreal Tigers in the 6th match of the Global T20 Canada 2023 at the CAA Centre in Brampton on July 23. Mississauga Panthers have played two matches in which they have lost both and are fifth in the rankings. On the other hand, Montreal Tigers have played just one match which they won, and so are in the second position in the points table.
Mississauga Panthers had squared off against Vancouver Knights in their last match, where Vancouver Knights had won the toss and elected to field. The Panthers did not start too well, being put to bat first. They had lost four wickets just for the score of 35, and their future looked grim when Chris Gayle and Azam Khan joined hands to stitch together a centurion partnership, due to which they posted 158 runs on the board. The Knights looked in decent control of the chase; however, the match got quite interesting in the end, and the Knights were able to keep their calm and win the match by five wickets on the very last ball of the match.
Montreal Tigers had played against Surrey Jaguars in their last encounter, where the toss was won by Montreal Tigers, who had chosen to field. After losing a wicket early, Jaguars seemed to move forward aggressively ahead. In the middle overs, though, it seemed as if the run flow stopped completely, and they could finally score just 136 in their first innings. Tigers, too, had a good start, but they did not slow down too much in the middle overs, due to which they easily cruised to the target and won the match by five wickets.
