Madhya Pradesh will lock horns with Tamil Nadu in the 108th match of Group E of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Dehradun on October 25. Madhya Pradesh has won just one game from their four and is fifth in the points table. Tamil Nadu, on the other hand, has won two of their four games and is placed in the fourth position.
Madhya Pradesh had played off against Tripura in their last encounter, where Madhya Pradesh won the toss and elected to bat. They had a cautious start, trying not to lose too many wickets. However, after the fall of the first wicket, they upped their scoring rate. Finding boundaries at regular intervals helped them reach a strong total of 168 runs. In reply, Tripura started the chase decently, but the fall of the first wicket led to a domino effect where they just kept losing wickets. They were bowled out for 131, hence losing the match by 37 runs.
Tamil Nadu had played off against Delhi in their last encounter, where Tamil Nadu won the toss and elected to field. Being put to bat, Delhi started aggressively and kept scoring at a rapid pace. They even had brilliant back-to-back partnerships, which kept them in a good position. By the end of the innings, they posted a huge total of 191, in reply to which Tamil Nadu never really could come into the game. They kept losing wickets and were bowled out for a petty total of 67, hence losing the game by a huge margin of 124 runs.
