Preview
Namibia will be up against Zimbabwe in the 2nd T20I of the Zimbabwe tour of Namibia at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek on October 25. Namibia entirely dominated the first match as they easily crushed Zimbabwe. Still, it may be a good encounter because Zimbabwe would really be looking forward to making a comeback in the series now.
Both these teams squared off against each other in the last match, which was the first T20I match of this series at the same venue where Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat. The decision did not prove to be a good one as both their opener were gone on ducks. They lost two more wickets in the powerplay itself, and the situation looked grim for them. However, their experienced duo of Sikander Raza and Wesley Madhevere steadied the storm for them. They took the team to an under-par total of 121 runs on the board.
This was a below-par total on a comparatively good surface, but Namibia did start well with the chase. They had scored just seven runs in two overs when they lost their first wicket but had a good partnership of 46 runs for the second wicket. They were going ahead at a much faster pace than was required, owing to a sensational knock by Nikolaas Davin as he smashed 80 runs off just 44 balls and remained unbeaten. He took his team home with seven wickets to spare and more than six overs to go.
