Preview
Nigeria will be up against Zimbabwe in the 16th match of the T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier 2023 at the United Cricket Club Ground in Windhoek on November 29. Both these teams have played four games so far in the tournament, where Zimbabwe have won two and is ranked fourth, while Nigeria have won just one, being ranked in fifth place.
Nigeria had played against Uganda in their last encounter, where Nigeria won the toss and elected to bat. They had started decently and looked solid at the start. However, once the opening partnership broke, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Some players got starts, but none could capitalise and as a result, were bowled out for just 99. Uganda had an easy chase ahead of them, and they did achieve the task of flaunting the same. They lost the first wicket early but did not lose any further and won the game with 15 balls to spare.
Zimbabwe squared off against Rwanda in their last match, where Rwanda won the toss and elected to bowl. After not having too good a tournament for Zimbabwe, they finally showed up in this game with their true strength. Every batter who got the chance to bat kept smoking bowlers all around the park and posted a mammoth total of 215 runs on the board. Rwanda had too huge a mountain to scale, and they needed to start well if they had a chance. They failed to do so and eventually lost the match by a huge margin of 144 runs.
