Preview
Northamptonshire will lock horns with Worcestershire in the 4th match of the Vitality Blast 2023 at the County Ground in Northampton on May 24. Northamptonshire did not do well last year, where they managed to win just six matches from their quota of 14 league games. They finished the league stage in the seventh position in the North Group and hence could not qualify further ahead for knockout matches. The team would look forward to bettering those stats this year and would be setting their first target to qualify for knockouts. They have changed their captains from Josh Cobb to David Willey. Their new captain and new pick, Chris Lynn, would be key to their success this season.
Worcestershire would like to forget their performance in the last season and get on ahead. They had won just two games and lost as many as 11 games in their league stage. This obviously means they finished at the bottom of the table in North Group. They have made a lot of changes this season to turn around the results and their fate. Adam Hose, who played brilliantly last season for Birmingham Bears, joins them this season. They have also signed some impressive foreign all-rounders, including Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell, who will be available after their IPL tenure. They have also picked Pakistani leggie Usama Mir to fill their holes. They would look forward to this season for creating a much better impact and having a more fruitful season this year.
