Preview
After already sealing the series, New Zealand will face Pakistan in the fifth and final T20I as a dead rubber in Wellington on Wednesday. In the battle of fringe and revamped teams, Blackcaps have gotten the better of Salman Aagha's new Pakistan brigade comfortably, outsmarting them by 3-1 already to have the series in their pockets.
With the advantage of home conditions, New Zealand has blasted imposing totals with Tim Seifert (152 runs) and Finn Allen (117 runs) being in the top three leading run scorers of the series. While Mark Chapman is on no. 2 with 119 runs. Jacob Duffy has been the pick of the bowlers, snuffing out 11 wickets and having more T20I wickets against Pakistan than all others combined and at the best strike rate.
While save for Hasan Nawaz's spectacular 105*-inspired victory in Auckland, the visitors have left much to be desired. Salman Ali Aagha has been their top scorer with 116 runs in the series, but others have found it tough to get going. Haris Rauf has been their standout bowler, scalping 8 wickets in three games, but the likes of experienced blokes like Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan have been brutalized, continuing the horror show post-Babar and Rizwan era in the T20I series for Pakistan.
However, with nothing much to play for than pride, Pakistan will hope for a consolatory win, while New Zealand would like to ice the series on a stupendous note with a seething scoreline of 4-1.
