Preview

New Zealand will take on Sri Lanka in the third ODI match of the Series. This match will be played at Eden Park in Auckland. Sri Lanka won the T20I series 2-1 and will be high on confidence coming into this ODI leg. New Zealand and Sri Lanka have faced each other in 105 matches in ODI. Out of these 105 games, New Zealand have won 54 whereas Sri Lanka has come out victorious 43 times.

New Zealand sealed the three-match series against Sri Lanka with another massive 113-run victory in a rain-curtailed second ODI in Hamilton. New Zealand cruised to a comfortable 143 for 1 while batting first but a collapse triggered by Theekshana helped restrict the hosts to 255 for 9. Sri Lanka's top-order woes continued for a second successive game as they were reduced to 22/4 and Kamindu reached his half-century to provide some resistance but it was too little too late as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 142.

New Zealand have already won the series so this ODI could be a chance for them to rest and rotate some players. On the other hand, Sri Lanka have to improve a lot in their batting if they are to be competitive in this match. This venue at Eden Park is very good for batting and the batter will be hoping to have a good game. This promises to be a thrilling match.
