Preview

Pakistan A and the United Arab Emirates A will contest in the 7th match of ACC Men's Emerging Cup 2023 on July 17 at P. Sara Oval, Colombo. Pakistan A squared off against Nepal in their previous encounter, where Pakistan was asked to bowl first. Mohammad Wasim, who started the proceedings for Pakistan with the ball, had joined hands with Shahnawaz Dahani to dent the much-anticipated Nepal group from both ends. They combined to take nine wickets in their 20 overs. Nepal fell to 179 for ten, even before the 40th over. All Pakistan batters did exceptionally well by contributing to the chase as they reached the target with 17 overs to spare. Tayyab Tahir was the standout performer of the day, scoring a well-constructed knock of 51 (67) to make sure the team crossed the finish line. Pakistan lost six wickets in this chase, and they could try to minimize this as much as possible.

United Arab Emirates A was invited to bowl in the face-off against tournament favorites India A in their previous encounter. As expected, UAE A was not up to par while facing the fast bowlers, and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals, which resulted in a one-sided game. The lower middle-order's contribution took them past 170, which was not enough to defend in the second innings. A total of six bowlers were introduced, and four bowlers went above six an over to gift plenty of runs. No significant impact was created at any phase of the game. Therefore, UAE A must find ways to register their first win.
