Preview
Pakistan will be up against Afghanistan in the 2nd Semifinal match of the Asian Games at the Zhejiang University of Technology Cricket Field in Hangzhou on October 6. Pakistan and Afghanistan have both been pretty decent in their recent games, and it would be a good contest of cricket between both sides.
Pakistan squared off against Hong Kong in their last match, where Hong Kong won the toss and elected to field. Pakistan were not off to the start they would have expected, losing three wickets at just 24, but a series of quickfire knock by their lower order meant they were able to put a total of 160 runs on the board. Hong Kong started decently and was cruising ahead to the chase, but their middle order folded up as soon as spinners were introduced. They were bowled out for 92 and lost the match by 68 runs.
Afghanistan had squared off against Sri Lanka in their last match, where Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field. Afghanistan lost the first wicket at just one run but had back-to-back fantastic partnerships to make a comeback. However, their middle and lower order were not able to contribute anything significant as they were bowled out for just 116. Sri Lanka were not too better a side as well, as they could not take advantage of the low total and were bowled out in return for 108, losing the match by just eight runs.
