Preview
Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the opening match of the ODI Tri-Series. This match will be played at Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore. Pakistan is set to host South Africa and New Zealand in a Tri-Nation series, beginning on February 8. This series will be a good preparation for all these sides ahead of the much-awaited Champions Trophy 2025. All the matches will be played in Karachi and Lahore.
Mohammad Rizwan will lead the side and the hosts have named a strong squad and will be looking to find out some combinations ahead of the tournament. Babar Azam is likely to open the batting with Fakhar Zaman in the absence of Saim Ayub. Khusdil Shah and Faheem Ashraf have also been selected and the pace trio along with the lone frontline spinner in Abrar will make the combination for this game.
New Zealand under the captaincy of Mitch Santner have done well in the last series and they have a strong group of players in this tour. Kane Williamson returns to the side and with both Pakistan and New Zeland in the same group for the CT 2025 this match can provide a good contest can be a very good preparation. This promises to be a closely fouguht game.
