Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka in the 8th match of the Cricket World Cup 2023 on Tuesday (October 10) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. It will be the second outing for both teams in this tournament.
Pakistan faced the Netherlands in their last game, where the Netherlands elected to bowl after winning the toss. Pakistan didn’t have a outing that they would have hoped for. They were bundled out for 286 runs in 49 overs. Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel scored 68 runs each. Netherlands had a 70-run partnership for the third wicket but their way in the middle. In the end, Netherlands were all out for 205 runs and Pakistan won the game by 81 runs. Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers and picked three wickets for 43 runs in nine overs.
Sri Lanka were involved in a high-scoring encounter against South Africa. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl. South Africa posted a huge total of 428 runs for the loss of five wickets, with the help of centuries from Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen, and Aiden Markram. In reply, Sri Lanka fought well but could only manage 326 runs before getting bowled out in 44.5 overs and lost the game by 102 runs.
