Preview
The play-off stage of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League is finally here. Four of the best teams in the competition remain as they hope to lift the coveted title at the end of the tournament. Qualifier 1 of the Pakistan Super League season nine will be played between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi at the National Stadium in Karachi on Thursday, March 14, 2023.
Multan Sultans finished the league stage of the competition at the top spot with seven wins from their ten games. Usman Khan and Mohammad Rizwan have been in stellar form with the bat for the Sultans. Both the batters are currently in the top five run-getters of the competition so far. Mohammad Ali and Usama Mir have been the stars with the ball for the side thus far and can be lethal in destroying the opposition's batting. The only concern for the Sultans would be that they have lost both of their games to Peshawar this season, and it would be something that would be on the players’ minds before the game.
Peshawar Zalmi also enter the contest brimming with confidence after finishing second with six wins after their ten matches. Their skipper, Babar Azam has been leading them from the front as he is the top run-scorer in the tournament as of now. The bowling is a little bit of an issue for the Peshawar side as none of their bowlers feature in the top wicket-takers of the competition.
