Quetta Gladiators (QUE) will face Peshawar Zalmi (PES) in the second match of the PSL 2024 on Sunday (February 18) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Gladiators have faced Zalmi in 21 matches so far in the tournament and have won nine matches. Zalmi have won 12 out of these 21 games.
The Gladiators managed to win just three out of 10 matches last season and finished in last place. The Zalmi won and lost five matches each in 2023 and finished in fourth place.
The Zalmi lost the second eliminator match against the Lahore Qalandars which marked their exit from the tournament. The Gladiators faced the Multan Sultans in their last game in 2023 and lost the match by nine runs.
The Gladiators have appointed Shane Watson as the head coach for this season. Rilee Rossouw has replaced Sarfaraz Ahmed as the captain of the side. Saud Shakeel has been appointed the deputy to Sarfaraz.
The Zalmi have retained Babar Azam as the captain of the side for this season. West Indies’ Shamar Joseph has been picked by the franchise, who had a heroic outing against Australia in the recently concluded Test series. Waqar Salamkheil has replaced Noor Ahmad in the team.
