Preview
Pakistan Under-19 will lock horns with Bangladesh Under-19 in the 36th match of the Under-19 World Cup 2024 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on February 3. Pakistan have won all their three matches so far in the Super Sixes round and are second in Group 1, while Bangladesh have won two of their three matches and are placed third in the rankings of Group 1.
Pakistan Under-19 played against Ireland Under-19 in their last game, where Pakistan Under-19s won the toss and elected to field. Being put to bat, Ireland did not start well and were tottering at 39 for five. But a couple of good partnerships thereon meant they were able to reach a decent total of 181 runs. Pakistan too did not start well but had a good partnership for the third wicket to bring them back onto the track. Ahmad Hassan played a good knock of 57 runs and remained unbeaten which led them on to win the game by three wickets.
Bangladesh Under-19 squared off against Nepal Under-19 in their last encounter where Nepal Under-19s won the toss and elected to bat. They could not utilize the opportunity in front of them after winning the toss as they lacked good partnerships. There was a good stand for the fourth wicket but no assistance later on meant they were bundled out for just 169. Bangladesh had a much better start in comparison as they had an opening stand of 67. They lost a couple of wickets but were easily able to win the game by five wickets.
