Pakistan Women will lock horns with West Indies Women in the 16th match of Group 2 of the ICC Women’s World Cup at the Boland Park in Paarl on February 19. Pakistan have won and lost a game of the two they have played so far. They are ranked third in the standings of Group 2. West Indies, on the other hand, have lost both their matches and are in fourth place in the points table.
Pakistan squared off against Ireland in their last match, where they lost the toss and were asked to bat first. They batted well and put up a strong total of 165 for the loss of five wickets after the end of twenty overs, owing to a brilliant century from the opener Muneeba Ali. She played the shots all around the ground and batted Ireland out of the game. What was left was completed beautifully by the Pakistani bowlers, who bundled out Ireland for a mere score of 95. Nashra Sandhu was the star with the ball as Pakistan won the match by 70 runs.
West Indies played their last match against India, where they won the toss and elected to bat. West Indies could only score 118 for the loss of six wickets. Deepti Sharma was the best-performing bowler for India, scalping three wickets. India did pretty well with the bat too, and chased down the score with 11 balls to spare. India won the match by a margin of six wickets.
