Preview

Just four days after a resounding victory at Optus Stadium in Perth, Team India is back in action. Albeit in a pink-ball warm-up Test match against Australia's Prime Minister XI, slated to commence on November 30 at Manuka Oval in Canberra. The visitors, who are the current holders of the title, were at their best in the first Test match, where they completely outplayed Pat Cummins and his men despite missing batting stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill to take a 1-0 lead.

India's stand-in skipper, Jasprit Bumrah, led the side from the front with eight wickets across the match after filling in for Rohit Sharma as a skipper, and magnificent centuries from top-order batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli guided them to win the series opener by 295 runs. With Rohit Sharma back at the helm after going on paternity leave for the birth of his second child, the opening batter will be looking to get a hang of conditions Down Under and acclimatize himself before the second Test match gets underway.

The stage is now set for the second Test match, which is a day-night affair contest, and it is going to be an interesting game as the pink ball tends to seam and swing more, especially under lights.
