Preview
Portugal will lock horns with Romania in the 6th match of the ECI Spain T10 at Montjuic Olympic Ground in Barcelona on November 26. With two wins from three matches, Portugal is ranked second in the points table while Romania has yet to win any of its matches so far and is languishing at the bottom of the table.
Portugal played against Spain in their last encounter where Portugal won the toss and elected to bowl. Spain started aggressively but the fall of the first wicket led to a mini collapse as they lost four wickets without scoring a single run. However, they recovered from the same with the help of some late flourish and posted a good total of 116 runs on the board. Portugal lost an early wicket in the chase but the partnership for the second wicket sealed the match for them. They won the match easily by seven wickets with four balls to spare.
Romania squared off against Spain in their last game where Romania won the toss and elected to bat. The decision was not looking good when they lost two wickets without making any changes to the scoreboard but a couple of good partnerships for the wickets to follow changed the course of the innings. They went on to score 115 runs at the loss of five wickets. Spain went out all guns blazing and set the tone of the chase right from the start. They won the game emphatically by a margin of seven wickets with around two overs to go.
