Preview
Quetta Gladiators will lock horns with Multan Sultans in the 28th match of the Pakistan Super League at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on March 11. Quetta Gladiators have played a total of nine games this season, where they have won just three matches and are fifth in the rankings. Multan Sultans have won five out of their nine games and are third in the standings.
Gladiators faced Peshawar Zalmi in their last encounter, where Peshawar won the toss, and they elected to bat. It was a high-scoring encounter between both teams. Peshawar started explosively as both their openers were firing. Saim got a brilliant half-century, while Babar scored a brilliant century. Peshawar lost just two wickets in their innings and posted a humongous total of 240. It would have seemed like the match was done and dusted with such a total on board, but Jason Roy had other plans. He smashed 145 not-out off just 63 balls and took his team home. Gladiators won the match by eight wickets with ten balls to spare.
The Sultans also faced Peshawar Zalmi in their last match, where Peshawar again won the toss and elected to bat. This pitch was another belter on offer for the teams, as a total of 486 runs were scored in the match. The openers of Peshawar again performed brilliantly as they both scored their half-centuries, respectively. They lost a few wickets, but that didn’t reduce their scoring rate as they piled up a monstrous total of 242 runs for the loss of six wickets. The Sultans had a huge total to chase, but they didn’t lose hope even after having a not so good start. Rilee Rossouw then came to the pitch and took the match by storm on his own. He scored the fastest century in the history of PSL. As a result, Sultans won the game by four wickets with five balls to spare.
