Melbourne Renegades will take on Melbourne Stars in the 23rd match of the Big Bash League. This match will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Its the Melbourne Derby and there have been plenty of close matches between these two sides. Stars have turned around their fortune in the New Year by winning their first game of the season and they will be hoping to stitch a few more wins.

A good bowling performance helped Melbourne Stars to their first win of the 2024-25 BBL season, courtesy of a five-wicket win over Brisbane Heat at the Gabba. They restricted Heat to 149 in the first innings and later chased it down with a couple of overs spare.

On the other hand, Melbourne Renegades suffered a big defeat against Strikers in the previous match. They could just post a total of 142 at the Docklands Stadium on a two-paced surface with variable bounce. Adelaide Strikers although cruised through the chase on the back of a terrific knock from Chris Lynn. This promises to be a closely fought game between these two teams.
