Preview
South Africa will take on England in the 11th match of the ICC Champions Trophy. This match will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi. Champions Trophy 2025 will be held from 19 February to 9 March 2025 and will be contested by the top eight ranked men's national teams. Group A includes Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and New Zealand. At the same time, Group B includes Australia, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa.
Each team has only 3 games and it is virtual knockout cricket so expect Champions Trophy 2025 to be a high-pressure and well-contested event. England and South Africa have faced each other in 70 matches in ODI. Out of these 70 games, England won 30 whereas South Africa came out victorious on 34 occasions. The last time these two sides faced off was in CWC 2023 where South Africa came out on top.
England are already eliminated having lost two of the three league games. With the loss in the previous match against Afghanistan, they have no chance to qualify. On the other hand, South Africa won the opening game against Afghanistan by 107 runs. Rickelton was the player of the match. Their previous match was abandoned. This promises to be an exciting match betweeen these two sides.
