Preview
South Africa will be up against the Netherlands in the 15th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on October 17. South Africa has dominated the proceedings so far, winning both their matches and sitting in third position, while the Netherlands have not quite made their mark yet, losing both their games and languishing in ninth place.
South Africa played against Australia in their last match, where Australia won the toss and elected to bowl. South Africa were off to a rollicking start as they gathered 108 runs for their opening stand. The run-fest did not stop after that as well and kept piling for every wicket. With the help of a brilliant century from Quinton, they reached a good total of 311 runs. Australia did not start the chase well and just kept losing wickets one after the other. They lacked partnerships to be built, which would take them forward, and so they lost the match by a huge margin of 134 runs.
The Netherlands squared off against New Zealand in their last match, where the Netherlands won the toss and elected to field. New Zealand started brilliantly, with their opening stand lasting for 67 runs and then the second wicket partnership adding on another 77 runs. Contributions from the entire batting order meant they posted a total of 322 runs, which proved to be a little too for the Dutch side. They started slow, and only Colin Ackerman could make a significant score. They were bundled out for just 223, hence losing the match by 99 runs.
