Preview

South Africa will take on Pakistan in the 1st Test of the Pakistan tour of South Africa. Pakistan won their previous Test series against England 2-1 in Pakistan. On the other hand, South Africa won their previous series against Sri Lanka 2-0. This is a very important series in the context of WTC. A solitary win in the series would ensure South Africa's berth in the upcoming WTC Final. They are favourites to do it and Pakistan who are not in contention for the WTC Final will be looking to spoil the party. Even though Pakistan recently won the ODI and T20I series, the hosts have a great record against Pakistan in home Tests. South Africa will be led by Temba Bavuma and will be missing  Coetzee due to injury. Pakistan have not won an overseas Test match in quite a while and they will be keen to correct their record. This promises to be a thrilling start to the series on Boxing Day.
