Preview
South Africa Women will lock horns with Australia Women in the 15th match of Group 1 of the ICC Women’s World Cup at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on February 18. South Africa have won and lost a game each from the total of two matches they have played so far and are placed in third place in the rankings. Australia have won all three of their games so far and are clearly dominating the rankings of Group 1, with them being the obvious table toppers.
South Africa squared off against New Zealand in their last match, where they won the toss and elected to bat. They posted a decent total of 132 at the expense of six wickets, with Chloe Tryon being the best with the bat for South Africa. New Zealand were completely taken aback by South Africa with the ball as the whole batting unit of South Africa performed together, and New Zealand were bundled at a mere score of 67. South Africa easily won the match by 65 runs.
Australia played their last match against Sri Lanka, where they won the toss and elected to field. Sri Lanka were a no match for Australia as they could only score 112 at the loss of eight wickets. Megan Schutt was the star bowler for Australia in that innings. Unlike what Sri Lanka may have thought, Australia completely destroyed Sri Lanka as they chased down the score without losing any wickets at all.
