South Africa Women will take on Bangladesh Women in the third T20I of the three-match series on Friday (December 8) at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley. The second game ended in a no result due to rain.
Bangladesh won the first match of the series. It was Bangladesh’s second win over South Africa in T20Is. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat. They made 149 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs with the help of a half-century from Murshida Khatun. She made 62 runs off 59 deliveries and remained unbeaten. Nigar Sultana scored 34 runs off 21 deliveries, including six boundaries, and provided the finishing touch. Eliz-mari Marx and Nondumiso Shangase took one wicket each for South Africa.
Anneke Bosch and Tazmin Brits provided a solid start to South Africa and added 69 runs for the first wicket. Brits was the first to get dismissed after scoring 30 runs off 26 deliveries. South Africa had collected 71 runs in the first 10 overs but lost the plot in the second half. They could manage only 136 runs for the loss of eight wickets at the end of the 20th over mark. Bangladesh won this game by 13 runs. Shorna Akter was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, with five wickets for 28 runs in four overs.
