Preview

South Africa Women will lock horns with New Zealand Women in the 3rd ODI match of the New Zealand Women's tour of South Africa at the Kingsmead in Durban on October 1. South Africa has already won the series with two wins from two matches and would be looking forward to making a clean sweep.

Both these teams had squared off against each other in the second match of the series at the City Oval in Pietermaritzburg, where South Africa Women won the toss and elected to bowl. New Zealand started well, with the opening stand lasting for 49 runs. Amelia looked sensational right from the start and missed out on her century by 12 runs. Useful knocks from Maddy Green and Hannah Rowe propelled New Zealand to a good total of 253 runs. Nonkululeko and Nadine scalped three wickets each for South Africa.

South Africa Women started decently with an opening stand of 29 runs in 5 overs but soon lost another wicket to add pressure to the chase. African captain Laura Wolvaardt stood her ground from one end and received good support from Sune Luus, who scored a fantastic fifty. After she fell, Marizane Kapp gave good support to her as well with a knock of 45 and remained unbeaten. Wolvaardt smashed 124 runs and took his team home by seven wickets with around five overs to spare.
