Preview
South Africa Women will be up against New Zealand Women in the 4th T20I of the New Zealand Women's tour of South Africa at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on October 14. This has not been too great of a series so far, with all three games being washed out. Both teams would be hoping for a better climate on the day to have a successful match.
The last successfully conducted match between the two teams was the 3rd ODI of this tour, which was played at the Kingsmead in Durban, where New Zealand Women won the toss and elected to field. South Africa did not start too well, with the opening pair lasting for just 20 runs. They lost three more wickets in a short span of time but then walked in Marizanne Kapp, and she calmed the storm with her sensational 72 runs. The batters kept coming and going from the other end, and as a result, they were bowled out for 209 runs.
New Zealand Women started decently with their chase, losing Suzie Bates at a total of 42 runs. Kiwi captain Sophie Devine had a good partnership of 64 runs with Amelia Kerr for the second wicket and set the tone of the match. However, they lost two wickets in successive overs, which could have been an issue. Amelia stayed on from the start and made another good partnership, this time around with Brooke Halliday, and remained unbeaten. Amelia made a sensational century as she won her team the match by six wickets.
