Preview
South Africa Women (SA-W) will take on Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) in the third ODI match of the Sri Lanka Women Tour Of South Africa 2024 at the Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, on Wednesday, April 17. The hosts are currently 1-0 ahead in the three-match series after the first match ended without a result due to rain.
In the second match, Sri Lanka lost the toss and were invited to bat first. Three-wicket hauls from Nadine de Klerk and Ayabonga Khaka restricted the visitors to 229/10 in 49.5 overs. South Africa, in reply, crossed the target in 47.4 overs, thanks to a brilliant hundred from captain Laura Wolvaardt. Marizanne Kapp also contributed her share with an unbeaten 77 off 84 balls.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the three-match T20I series 2-1. South Africa has a good record against the visitors in the 50-over format, and it remains to be seen if Chamari Athapaththu and Co. can make history and leave the rainbow nation on a high.
