Scotland Women will be up against Ireland Women in the 1st T20I of the Scotland Women vs Ireland Women at the Deserts Spring Cricket Ground in Almeria on October 23. Both these teams are coming off with a good track record in this format of the game with four and three wins from five matches for Scotland and Ireland respectively.
Scotland Women had played off against France Women in their last encounter where Scotland won the toss and elected to bat. Scotland was off to a flier as their opening pair added 99 runs for the first wicket. They then lost three wickets in a quick succession but due to sensational hitting by Alisa Lister, they posted a grand total of 204 runs on the board. In reply, France Women could never get going as they kept losing wickets. Only two of their batters had a score in double digits, leading them to losing the match by a huge margin of 155 runs.
Ireland Women had squared off against Netherlands Women in their last match where Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat. After losing the first wicket rather early, a solid second wicket partnership of 50 runs brought them back in the game. However, they completely lost their track after on as they could only finish with 116 runs by the end. Ireland started aggressively in the chase but slowed down significantly in the middle. Since the target was not too huge, they still managed to win the match by six wickets.
