Preview

Scotland Women will be up against Ireland Women in the 2nd ODI of the Scotland Women vs Ireland Women at the Deserts Spring Cricket Ground in Almeria on October 19. This has not been too great of a series so far, with all three games being washed out. Both teams would be hoping for a better climate on the day to have a successful match.

The last match between the two teams was played at the same venue where Ireland Women won the toss and elected to field. Being put to bat, Scotland started slow and lost their first wicket at just 18 runs. However, they had a brilliant second-wicket partnership where they added 65 runs. Kathryn Bryce led the attack from the front with her 78 runs knock, but the middle order could not contribute well and, as a result, were bowled out for a total of 211 runs.

In reply, Ireland Women started off well with the opening pair adding out 38 runs in 12 overs. They lost two wickets in quick succession to push them back in the chase, but a good third-wicket partnership again brought them back. After the fall of the third wicket, the Irish batters failed to make good partnerships and kept losing wickets one after the other. Several batters got starts, but unfortunately, none of them could continue to make bigger totals for the team and were bowled out for 171 runs, losing the match by 40 runs.
