Preview

Scotland Women will be up against Italy Women in the 7th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground in Almeria on September 10. Scotland have won two of their three matches so far and are in the second position in the rankings. Italy, on the other hand, have played three matches as well but has won just one and are in third place.

Scotland Women had played against France Women in their last match, where France won the toss and elected to bat. It did not prove to be too great a decision as they started off slow but maintained a decent pace in the middle overs. As they approached the final overs, they started losing wickets, and runs dried up, hence collecting a total of just 106 runs. Scotland started their chase well and were scoring at a brisk pace. They did not take too much time or lose too many wickets as they easily won the game by seven wickets.

Italy Women had squared off against Netherlands Women in their last match, where Netherlands won the toss and elected to bowl. Italy was slow and sluggish right from the start, as they were neither able to score runs nor were they able to score nor keep their wickets. By the end of the innings, they were only able to score 74 runs. The Netherlands had no issues in chasing down such a small total. Owing to some fantastic partnerships, they easily won the game by nine wickets with around half an inning to spare.
